How Much Does It Cost?

Cash Fares
The cost for a one-way fare is $1.10 (riders must have exact change). You pay a fare each time you exit the bus and reboard (for example, you leave the bus to drop off a letter at the post office while we wait and then reboard the bus to be dropped at another location).

Discount Passes
If you ride often, you may want to purchase a punch pass. These are good for 10 one-way trips at a cost of $9.00 per pass.

Passes have no expiration date and are available at Rexall Drugs in Los Osos (989 Los Osos Valley Rd., phone: 528-1017), the RTA Administrative Office in San Luis Obispo (1150 Osos St., Suite 208, phone: 781-4472), and on the Dial A Ride bus.

We offer no other discounts or special rates at this time.

Transfers
We accept transfers to and from RTA buses. With a transfer the cost to ride Dial-A-Ride is $.75, so don't forget to get a transfer slip from the RTA driver. We also issue transfers to RTA buses. Transfers are only good for the day they are issued.

IMPORTANT: We cannot make change. Please have the correct change for your fare or pass purchases. You may also pay by check made out to Dial-A-Ride. There are no COD's, credit, or refunds.

What About Carry Ons And Other Packages?

You may board with packages, but please try to limit them to 3. As a courtesy, and at your request, we will load up to 3 double bagged paper or securely tied plastic bag parcels for you. If you wish to carry more there will be a charge of one fare for every 3 extra parcels. You may, of course, load all your own packages, but they must fit in your lap and/or on the floor between your legs. We realize this may seem restrictive but we have found it to be necessary for passenger safety.

We do not allow surfboards or other large items that might cause a hazard in an accident. We are also not equipped for carrying or loading bicycles.
